"They don't make 'em like they used to."
I'm just getting to grips with the sad news that the man named after Superman's Dad has passed on to the Great Hall of the People in the Sky.
We all know that power grows from the barrel of a gun. Here's Dear Leader practising with veg.
As Sigmund Freud said, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and a vegetable is just a vegetable. Or not.
"Hmm, something's missing."
"The people's cheap laugh is deepest red."
"Do we have something a bit nobblier?"
"Well, it's the right colour."
"I may be needing some of these these."
"Huh! Jesus needed twelve of these."
Of culture, pop-culture and petri dishes. Keeping count while the clock strikes thirteen.

Hey no surprises you make light of probably one of the worst modern day 'butchers' and dictators going....he makes the Bush and Blair act look quite tame!
Oh hang on.... sorry your a failed Communist...I forgot... so of course.....I see now....and the fact he's N Korean...a traditional enemy of the 'Merkans'
I apologise then...you daft old bat!
North Korea was, of course, a satire-free zone. A bit like Richy's little head.
(It's "you're", not your.")
Anna, you know I love your blog but you are a bit off kilter. I mean making attacks on Christopher Hitchens but 'satire' about this dead lunatic? Still keep up the blogging and happy new year.
Paul, satire has always been an effective way to expose repressive forces — I think it's well deserved here for someone who starved his people while he lived large.
Hitchens was no shirker when it came to the attack. I'm attempting an analysis of Hitchens, acknowledging his strengths. But it's impossible to ignore his siding with power as he grew older, his abortion stance, and his revolting claim that wiping out the Native American Indians was some sort of collateral damage in the march of human society. As for his attack on the Dixie Chicks, inflaming a hate campaign against them, that was low even for someone in his decline.
